Our story
Our name, Wallhanger Photography, actually comes from the beginning of our love story back in 2006. The mutual friend who introduced us to each other noticed Jody's eye for photography and would often comment on his work with an enthusiastic, "Now that's a wall-hanger!" -which is man talk for, "That's beautiful enough to be mounted in your living room!" We laughed at the statement but continued to use the phrase as we photographed the world on our many pre-children adventures.
For most of our married lives Jody has poured into the lives of teenagers as a full-time Youth Minister, and Megan has owned and operated her in-home salon. In 2013 we finally welcomed our first miracle baby. That's when our passion for people and art collided and a photography side business was born right along with our first born. Our second miracle child joined us in 2014 and by then our separate strengths in photography evolved making us a team we could not and would not divide. Photoshoots are such a joy for us, we almost consider them date nights! (Almost)
Jody has a way of putting men and kids at ease which plays an important role in portraying authentic connection in your images. Megan has a heart for helping women recognize their own unique beauty, and has a knack for posing clients in a favorable light. We use natural lighting and minor enhancements to achieve the most natural and personalized look and feel.
